Australia Day Japanese Bento Box, Guest Post for #NatashaInOz

Happy Australia Day! My friend, Natasha in Oz invited this Ninja Baker to a Happy Australia Day celebration.

Mind boggling to think that in 1788 British ships with convicts were sent over to Australia. Today tourists – including British ones – escape the fetters of daily life to luxuriate in the beauties of Australia. (I’m not talking about the bikini-clad Sheilas!)

The Ninja Baker turned the classic Australian Lamington into a cupcake!
(The how-to is at Natasha in Oz.)

Seriously, one of the joys of blogging is meeting fellow foodies from around the world like Natasha from Oz.  Natasha’s recipes are always beyond delicious. (Have you tried her Ooey Gooey Chocolate Coconut Brownies? Or her Buttery Chai Tea Cookies?) Reading posts written by Natasha and other Australian friends also gives me a glimpse into the culture.

Australia Day Bento : Lamington Cupcake & Mini Meat Pies

One truth that we all seem to adhere to around the world is the importance of food when we are celebrating! Tastes and textures may vary, but food is the way we come together as a community. In honor of Australia Day, this Ninja Baker has created an Australia Day Japanese Bento Box. The Ninja Baker’s Lamington Cupcake and Aussie (Faux) Meat Pies are featured items of my bento lunch box for Australia Day. Click here to say G'Day to Natasha in Oz and see Australia Day Bento recipes.

Wishing you a Happy Australia Day!
